We do not knowingly collect personal information from members of the public, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.
2. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and open your account — necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To supply goods and manage your account — necessary for the performance of our contract with you.
- To assess creditworthiness and prevent fraud — our legitimate interest in trading safely.
- To keep records required by food safety and tax law — compliance with a legal obligation.
- To send relevant trade information — our legitimate interest in communicating with business customers, or your consent where required. You can opt out at any time.
3. Who we share it with
We share personal data only where necessary: with delivery and logistics partners to fulfil your order; with credit reference and insurance providers when assessing an account; with our professional advisers; with IT and communications providers who host our systems under contract; and with regulators or authorities where the law requires it.
4. International transfers
Our systems are hosted within the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area wherever possible. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place, such as UK International Data Transfer Agreement provisions.
5. How long we keep it
Enquiry data that does not become an account is kept for up to 24 months. Account and trading records are kept for the duration of the relationship and for six years afterwards, to meet tax, accounting and food-safety record-keeping requirements. Marketing preferences are kept until you change them.
6. Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask us to delete data where there is no longer a reason for us to hold it, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive data you provided in a portable format.
